Five subjects that decide how strong you feel through perimenopause, menopause and the years after.
How the topics fit together
Most women arrive with one question: why the scales have moved, why their knees ache, whether lifting is safe after a bone scan. The answers overlap. Strength training protects muscle and bone, muscle and activity shape how weight changes, and food decides whether you have the energy to train.
So each topic page gathers the guides on its own subject and links to its neighbours. If you are new to all of it, begin with strength training, then read muscle, bone and balance for the reasons behind it. Every health fact on these pages links the NHS, NIH or other official page it comes from, as our editorial policy explains.
